Before and After: Doggy Style

I'm doing something I said I wasn't going to do. Oh come on! You didn't really think this post was going to be sexually related did you?? I knew it would draw a few of you here though....I know who you are ;) No shame ladies!

Ok, well I said I wouldn't post a pic of our doodle after she got her hair cut. The shock of it all has finally worn off, so I figured I should share it with you all. I mean I can't keep her hidden forever! I kid, I kid. Beau and I are actually growing quite fond of her short hair. I always knew he liked blondes....

So here it is. Miss Daisy Mae in all her glory. Notice in her "before" shot she has just finished chewing up the rug in our closet! I told her she was going to get it...little did she know she would be heading to the groomers - I think she learned her lesson!

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. Unfortunately our weather is el crappola here this weekend. We are, however, going to head out in the rain tonight to meet up with some friends for a couple of drinks. I guess we'll throw a little food in there too, why not?

Where to start

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! The weather was perfect here, a little windy, but so pretty. We had an extremely busy weekend. I had high hopes for lounging around, cleaning and meeting some friends at a crawfish boil, but those plans were squashed when Beau said "Do you want to go look for cars this weekend?" Meh, not really....

First off, I want to give you all a 30 day shred update. You know, I have watched the Biggest Loser and I LOVE it, to the point of obsession. I have always thought Jillian was awesome. She has amazing abs and her arms are incredible! Well, I guess you could say that my girl crush fizzled out completely after her stupid work out!! Not to say it wasn't awesome (believe me, it kicked my butt) but I got so angry because I was in pain. You can only squat and raise your arms above your head with 5-10 lb weights so many times Jillian! And when you say "a couple more" I'm thinking you mean a couple more, not 6 more!! I don't usually swear, but this video made me yell all sorts of bad things at my TV. And this is just level 1 people! I thought I could handle this since I normally work out 4-6 times a week. I keep repeating "no pain no gain!" I'm pretty sure that if I'm that soar and in pain while doing it I must really be working some muscles. I did a little research on this video and there are success stories everywhere! The before and after pics are pretty incredible, so I'm sticking to it. It's been 4 days so far and I'm starting to get the hang of it now! Oh and this swimsuit came in the mail so I am that much more motivated now. I have to say it fits amazingly and I will be ordering more suits from them in the future!

Next, I wanted to celebrate with you all our exciting new purchase over the weekend! Beau got a new truck!! We could not be more excited! We spent Friday night looking and haggling with sales-men and then all day Saturday (11:30-6:30) doing the same. I think car buying was definitely more painful than Jillian's workout! I have never done this before and I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon. I had no idea I had it in me to be so mean to someone I didn't even know! I guess they bring out the worst in you. I got pretty heated at times (lack of food makes me very cranky) as did Beau, but overall he was pretty calm. I'm the worrier, the one doing numbers in my head to make sure it will all work out. In the end it did! Backstory:We each had cars that were 2 doors. Mine had a backseat, his old truck didn't. Basically they were on the small side. Well, now we have a 4 door truck that seats 6 (5 comfortably:)) It was a little hard to get rid of his old truck though. His grandma had bought it for him in high school before he graduated so it definitely had some sentimental value to it. As you can see from the pics though, we were all smiles when it was all said and done!

And last, Miss Daisy got groomed on Saturday. They tried and tried to get her mats out without having to shave her, but after working on her for hours - she was there from 10:30-7 - they had to go ahead and shave her down. She has about a 1/2" of hair left on her little body. Poor doodle! I do have to say that I think she looks mighty cute. Maybe I'm just getting used it?? I'll do a before and after pic when I get some of her new cut. You have to promise you won't laugh though :)

Happy Monday!

I may or may not have....

Allowed my mom to cut miss Daisy Mae this last weekend with her horse clippers. Yes ladies, our more-than-matted labradoodle needed HORSE hair clippers to get through her fur. I tried to save a buck by letting mi madre do it, but I think I may have made a mistake :( She just doesn't look that cute....at.all. I feel like the worst mom ever!! Not that the groomers would have done any better. I mean come on, when your dog is matted, there is nothing left to do but cut down to the mats which in our case was to her skin. I'm sure our vet thought she was a rescue dog or something last time we took her in. Problem is, we only got half of her cut because her head and upper body took us about 2 hours! Yeah, no pictures of this one. She may or may not look like this:
{Disclaimer: this is not, I repeat, NOT my Daisy, but how funny is it?}

Moral of the story: Friends, don't let friends (err, mom) cut your dog's hair :) Aaron is horrified, I still love her and think she's cute; as only a mother would, but I am a little horrified too. Let's just say that she'll be an inside dog until this grows back.....

Oh Daisy!

A couple of things from the last few days:

I locked me and Daisy out of the house when I was letting her out in the backyard. I don't know how I did this, but I did. Our two side gates are padlocked...from the other side. Genius! And I am terrified of heights so there was no climbing the fence. How did I used to do this when I was 8?? So we waited..and waited for Beau to get home so he could let in his 2 favorite girls. Did I mention how cold it was outside?

Saturday, I woke up to Daisy barking at 3 in the morning only to find that she had completely shredded her bed and chewed into our floor molding and wall. Why she did this, I have no idea. I'm convinced she is punishing me for leaving her at home when I have to go to work.

Last night I went into our closet only to find Daisy (seems to be a theme here?) eating my unopened tube of super glue! Seriously what is wrong with this dog?? The stuff smells toxic and I can't imagine it going down smooth. Thankfully, after spending a few minutes on the phone with poison control, I was told it wasn't harmful to babies or dogs. Whew! As for her punishment, well her lips were stuck to her gums and she had dried patches of super glue all down her tongue. I doubt she'll be getting into that again!

It used to be so nice when all she would do was lay around the house and sleep. I miss those days!

One last thing - has anyone else had trouble viewing blogger through Internet Explorer? I use Firefox, but I was told that some couldn't see anything when using Explorer. Is it a problem on my end? I've been trying to fix it, but can't figure it out.

Manic Monday

Here is the way my morning has gone:

I wake up, turn on my straightener, finish "putting my face on" (as my mimi calls it) and went to do my hair. I got through the left side and went to do the right when I noticed that it wasn't hot. At all! Umm I don't know about you, but I NEED to straighten my hair in the morning! It's just not possible not to. Thankfully I still have my trusty curling iron and was able to smooth out some of the frizz.

Then I went to let Daisy out and she has found a new love. Digging! She ran in the house with mud all over her paws and I'm chasing her so she doesn't get all over our carpet. I put her in her cage, pack up and head to work.

I then receive a call from our alarm company telling me that there has been a break in at our house at the back door. Are you kidding me????? So I rush home, panicking mind you, and sit in my car in our cul-de-sac for almost an hour waiting for the cop to show. He never showed so I went down and got the girl at the model home. Seriously what were we going to do? We walked through the backyard and I looked at the door and it was just slightly opened. I wasn't about to go up to the door, but the chick I was with just walked right in! Apparently she's much more brave than I am!! It appeared that the door was never locked and it had barely been shut and the wind knocked it open. False alarm! Do you know how stupid I feel?? I completely blame Daisy for this one. If she wouldn't have ran in with mud all over her feet I would have shut the door (completely) and locked it. Instead I go running after her and leave the door unlocked. You live and learn, I guess.

Happy Monday! It's back to work for this girl :(
